THE SERVICE AND THE APP
FoodFacts provides information about food products by compiling and analyzing information about, among other things, origin, certifications, nutritional values, and ingredients from third-party sources (the "Service"). The service is provided via our mobile application ("App"), which allows the user to scan the barcode on a food product and see the product information in an easily accessible and user-friendly way, with the ability to save product favorites and make certain personal settings.
The purpose of the App and the Service is to facilitate sustainable, healthy and fact-based food consumption by increasing the User's understanding of food properties, such as certifications, environmental impact, nutritional values, origin, and ingredients, and provide the opportunity to discover new foods. The App and the Service may only be used for private use and in accordance with applicable law.
The service may from time to time be subject to maintenance and therefore become unavailable. However, such maintenance that may affect the availability of the Service shall, when reasonable, be placed outside the period 8-17 CET during working week days and not last longer than what is reasonably required to perform the maintenance.
RELIABILITY OF INFORMATION
The service means that we display information from, among other things, the information service Validoo Receiver and information from organizations’ and authorities' public websites and that we apply our own calculations and algorithms to such information to offer transparent and easily accessible product information.
You understand and accept that such information obtained from these sources is not always correct. We recommend that you always check the packaging of the product and assess the suitability for consumption of that product.
We strive for the information to be as accurate as possible. We therefore ask you to report any inaccuracies in the information about the food through the App's feedback function.
NO MEDICAL ADVICE
The purpose of the Service and the App is not to provide medical advice or recommendations, including but not limited to information for allergic people. We encourage you to contact healthcare professionals and the food manufacturer if you have questions about which foods are right for you.
LICENSE AND RIGHT TO USE THE APP AND THE SERVICE
Provided that you accept, you will receive during the term of the contract a non-exclusive, and non-transferable (i) license to download, install and use the App in object code form on a mobile device in Sweden that you own or have access to, for the purpose of using the Service , and (ii) right to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not, or give anyone else permission to, copy or modify the App in whole or in part. This means that no one without our consent may develop, add to, decompile or reverse engineer the App or its components. It is not permitted to reproduce the source code or its functionality, or to make copies of the software, in addition to what mandatory law gives the right to.
You may not use the Service to spread viruses, trojans, or similar programs.
You may not copy the content of the Service or otherwise pass on the content to third parties. We do not allow automatic reading of the Service.
NETWORK, HARDWARE, AND SOFTWARE
You are responsible for ensuring your own access to the network required to use the Service. There may be additional costs for e.g. data transmission and messaging services. We do not bear these costs. Furthermore, you are responsible for obtaining and updating the hardware or software needed to access the App and the Service. To be able to use the Service, you need a smartphone with a camera, Internet access, and the operating system iOS 10 alternatively Android 5, or later versions.
RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
If you want to exercise the right of withdrawal, you must send a clear message to us about it (e.g. through an email to email@example.com). You can use the template from the Swedish Consumer Agency that is attached to these terms, but you do not have to use it.
PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
We process personal data that we receive in connection with the use of the Service in accordance with our Personal data policy.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
CHANGE OF THE APP, SERVICE, AND TERMS
In addition to ensuring that the Service and the App comply with what has been agreed, we may from time to time choose to further develop the App and the Service. The aim is to make the Service better for our Users, better at promoting sustainable and healthy food consumption, easier to use and manage ; or to avoid that we or third parties suffer damage ; or in order for the App and the Service to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Changes to the Service and the App are announced on www.foodfacts.se and via pop-up windows or banners in the Service.
Furthermore, we have the right to unilaterally change the terms.
