This document describes how FoodFacts treats data that we collect from visitors to our website and users of our mobile app.

Visitors to our website

We do not, as of February 2021, collect any data from visitors to our website, but please be informed that we may at any time install a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We may do this to understand how much different parts of the site is used by visitors. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, such as collecting e-mail addresses for a newsletter, it will be clearly stated what personal data will be collected and for what purpose.

Mailing lists and contact forms

FoodFacts offers several ways for visitors to communicate with our company via our website and our mobile app, including subscribing to a newsletter, filling in contact forms, or signing up to become a user or test user of our services. As part of such interactions, we collect personal information including your e-mail address and, when clearly stated in a contact form, your name and additional contact information such as your telephone number.

We use that information only for the purpose it was originally collected for, such as sending you a newsletter or sending information you need to use our mobile app, or contacting you directly as requested. We don’t share your e-mail address, or other personal information that can be used to identify you, with other organizations and businesses.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking an unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer Erik Strandin Pers.

This privacy notice does not cover the links within this website linking to other websites. Those sites are not governed by this private notice, and if you have questions about how a website uses your information, you’ll need to check that website’s privacy statement.

Such request is likely to result in the disruption, malfunctioning or unavailability of the service or the parts of the service for which the personal information was collected. Upon such request we will erase your user identity, your personal settings and any user activity data linked to your identity.

Sharing of aggregate user data with third parties

FoodFacts will not share data which can be used to identify you or any other user with third parties. FoodFacts may share reports of aggregate user activity with third parties.

We keep our privacy notice under regular review. This privacy notice was last updated in February 2021.

Cookie notice
